Williams Micheal5 Big Tips in Online Branding 2.0 Style1.Don t Be Snarky!

Urban Dictionary defines it as any language that contains quips or comments containing sarcastic or satirical witticisms intended as blunt irony. It s usually delivered in a manner that is somewhat abrupt and out of context and intended to stun and amuse. Wisecracks and put downs didn t amuse the masses in high school and they won t attract positive attention online either. Don t get me wrong, being cynical has worked and some say works well, but doing so comes with as many negatives as it does positives. All attention is not good attention.

2.Be Spam-Free!

SPAM is defined as any act of solicitation delivered in a malicious or unwanted fashion. It is the online equivalent of a pushy salesman and social networks have it also, but those members will soon find themselves being ignored by the whole community. Web 2.0 spam includes solicitation signatures, repetitive posts, and just plain looking greedy. Be a part of the community and be unselfish in doing so. In a social network atmosphere the less you ask for and more you give turns into the more they ask and the more they buy .

3.Get Involved!

Be a part of the community. Post pics of your family, friends, home, car, dog, cat, and office. Make sure they are happy pictures full of life. Start threads and join groups, discussions, and forums. Be involved in the community and they will be involved in you!

4.Become a Sponsor!

Many social communities have sponsorship programs at many levels. I suggest that you become a sponsor so you don t make the mistake of posting spam inadvertently. I have made that mistake as well as many folks that I know and it never turns out good for the community or your presence.

5.Stay Away From Sex, Politics, and Religion!

Sometimes it s good to be anonymous and if you want to discuss controversial issues on a public online community I suggest you do it under cover . There is no reason to be in any form of combat with a potential buyer and online feuds can haunt you forever. Wear a white flag on your hat in needed, but stay out of the action.
